The City of Birmingham Rockets are an established basketball programme with over 20 years of experience in player development, providing a structured pathway from grassroots level through to senior National League basketball. The club has supported hundreds of players in progressing into university, national, and professional pathways.

U9 Mixed Basketball is for boys and girls currently in Year 2 or Year 3, who will be going into Year 3 or Year 4 in September 2026.

This stage focuses on introducing fundamental basketball skills including dribbling, passing, shooting, movement, teamwork, and basic game understanding in a structured and positive environment.

Players will initially train and trial in a mixed (boys and girls) environment. Where numbers allow, separate boys’ and girls’ teams will be formed once final selections are made.

Teams will compete in the Youth Basketball League (YBL), providing appropriate competitive experience focused on learning and development.

TRIAL INFORMATION

Stage 1 – Open Trials
Date: Saturday 23 May 2026
Time: 09:15 – 10:30
Venue: The Lighthouse

All registered players attend this session and are assessed by coaches on ability, attitude, and potential.

Stage 2 – Invitation Only Trials
Date: Wednesday 27 May 2026
Time: 18:00 – 19:30
Venue: Windsor Olympus Academy

Only selected players from Stage 1 will be invited to Stage 2.

LATE TRIALISTS

If a player is unable to attend their scheduled trial, they must register via the Late Trialist option (26/27 Season).
