Ridgeway Minibasket Community Sessions

In partnership with City of Birmingham Rockets Basketball Club for Boys and Girls in Years 3–6

Weekly basketball sessions designed to introduce primary school children to the sport in a fun, inclusive, and progressive way. Delivered every Wednesday by qualified Rockets coaches, the programme develops skills, confidence, and teamwork while building a love for the game.

Autumn Term (November – December 2025)

Wednesday 5th November – Wednesday 10th December (6 weeks)

This block builds on the fundamentals and challenges children to use their skills under more realistic conditions. More teamwork is introduced, and players begin to apply skills in small game situations.

Focus areas:
• Dribbling and ball-handling under pressure
• Passing while moving and decision-making
• Shooting with lay-ups and set shots
• Playing in small-sided games with simple rules
